I am pregnant and not accepting clients at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience!
FREE CONSULTATION These are held a public facility or at your home (whichever is closest). We get to know each other and talk about what kind of Doula you are looking for, what your expectations are and see if you think we would be a good match.
1-2 Prenatal Appointments If you are planning a home birth one appointment needs to be at your home or birth location. When you are in labor and wanting me at your house, you will appreciate it more if I know where I am headed and do not get lost on the way. Be prepared to give me the grand tour of your home it is important that I know my way around your house ahead of time. The appointment will usually last about 1-2 hours, we will discuss healthy pregnancy, your birth plan, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and anything else you and your partner wish to discuss.
Meet Your Care Provider If you would like me to meet your doctor or midwife I am wiling to do so. I think a good time is toward the end of your second trimester to the beginning of the third trimester. This gives us enough time to work out a time that is good for us all.
Identify Your Support Needs Exactly what kind of support do you need? Emotional? Physical? Educational? Do you have enough supplies and support for, or after the birth? Do you need any referrals or would you like to borrow some books?
Unlimited Phone Consultations I can be that person you can call at 3 a.m. to vent or voice any worries or concerns you may have, or simply answer any questions that may come up during your pregnancy.
24 hour on-call availability during your due date range (4 weeks)
Continuous Labor Support Relaxation techniques, including visualizations, encouragement, massage, aromatherapy, affirmations, breathing, herbal support and labor/birthing positions.
Partner Support Some partners feel unable to help during pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I can provide ideas, exercise, massage and labor position instruction for the partner that wants to be more involved. Or be the main source of physical support for the mother if the partner cannot attend or wishes to take a less active approach.
Breastfeeding Support Help with first breastfeeding and referrals to local mommy groups and lactation consultants.
1 Postpartum Visit/Follow Up During the first postpartum appointment, I usually come over within 3 or more days after birth.I make sure you are settled in well, that your postpartum plan is in affect and breastfeeding has been established. I may or may not give referrals based on how things are coming along. We go over your thoughts about how the birth went, and if you need any ideas about baby wearing devices or co-sleeping.
As a student my fee for labor Doula service is $250 for a home birth or hospital birth.
My services are available for hire as long as you have a hired care provider and leave a $125 deposit to retain my services. I will not schedule your birth until a deposit is received. You are able to pay the remaining $125 at any time there after, but I must be paid in full by the time you are 36 weeks.I prefer to be paid in cash but will take check or credit cards.
It is important to me you have the support you want and I will do whatever I can to make it possible. If you are a low-income family or have special circumstances, please call me to discuss the possibility of payment reduction or a trade for services.
